If you see me using a w in a weird place, or it's counterpart 笑, here is why:
We all know LOL, whether or not we use it. But who does use it is the Japanese Internet.

彼は猫みたいに可愛いwww
kare wa neko mitai ni kawaii
So this basically means "He looks cute like a cat lol"
So why is it a "w"?
The character I mentioned earlier, 笑, comes from the verb 笑う (warau), or "to laugh". So it makes sense, right?
Naturally, there are varying degrees of w: w, ww, www, and wwwwwwwwwww. (The latter is kinda rare, but it's still out there! ww)
So it you see one of these, now you know what it means!
