I'll give you the English word, then the Japanese word, as well as how it's pronounced. Remember, 'g's in Japanese have a hard sound, like in 'ground', not like 'George'.
Pronunciation
a=ah- la e=eh- led i=ee- piano o=oh- old u=oo- sue And you already know 'g'!
*A few things I learned from the app HumanJapanese:
*When you put an "i" after an "e" ("ei"), the "e" sound last 1 beat longer (think musically!).
*When you put a "u" after an "o" ("ou"), the "o" sound last 1 beat longer.
Good Morning - Ohayō Gozaimasu (oh-ha-yoh-go-zai-mahs) (use before 10 AM)
*Hello - Konnichiwa (kohn-ee-chee-wah) (use after 10 AM)
Good Evening - Konbanwa (kohn-bahn-wah) (use from 6 PM till about 3 or 4 in the morning)**
Good Night - Oyasumi nasai (Oh-yah-soo-mee-nah-sigh)
Thank you for the food I will eat - Itadakimasu (ee-tah-dah-kee-mah)
Thank you for the food I ate - Gochiso sama (go chee-so-sah-mah)
Please - Onegai shimasu (oh-nih-guy-shee-mah-soo)
Thank You - Domo arigato (doh-moh-ah-ree-gah-toe)
Yes - Hai (said fast and short) (high)
No - iie (ee-eh)
How are you? - Ogenki desuka? (oh-gehn-kee-des-kah)
I'm fine - Genki desu (gehn-kee-des)
Excuse me - Sumimasen (soo-mee-mah-sehn)
*Goodbye - Sayōnara (sah-yoh-nah-rah)
*Gohan - meal (goh-hahn)
Baka - anything from an insult like "stupid" to a playful "silly!" (bah-kah)
*Sama - like "san", but meaning great respect to the person you are saying it to- goes in place of "san". (sah-mah)
San- Mr. or Mrs. (sahn)
