This post includes references to Yuzuru Hanyu, Japan's top male figure skater. More on that later.
羽生結弦選手について w 大ファンからです。
About a month ago, I bought his book from Amazon, and it arrived earlier this week. It's written completely in Japanese (a handful of English words can be found here and there), and on top of that, it's written vertically! This will be great practice for kanji (not to mention Vocab!) and reading in a way I am not used to at all. (ww) The cool thing is that I understand more than I thought I would!
1ヶ月くらい前はamazonから蒼い炎を買って月曜日は着きました╰(*´︶`*)╯たくさんの写真が入ってあって日本語だけ書いてあるけど思ったより分かれて嬉しいです♡ w

So this is a good look at how things are over there! The thing is is that Japanese people read both vertically and horizontally, pages R→L and L→R text. The are very versatile!
Now, I won't turn this into a Yuzuru fan site, I promise - I have other plans as far as that goes. But he will pop up here and there, because I've learned a good deal of things from him.
Next post will probably be about the New Year in Japan! I've got an insider's look (aka from a native) at customs and traditions for the new year, so I'll translate that and report back to you!
Thanks for reading, and see you soon!
